The ability of the business plan to achieve long-term objectives will depend not only on the
success we have in selecting attractive projects and acreage but also upon our ability
to efficiently acquire and operate these projects for the long term. Even the best technical
plays can be unsuccessful if host government relations are not maintained and if costs
are allowed to exceed budgetary limits. Recognizing that these two elements are
often interlinked, the business plan will provide for a major commitment to
communication with host governments and the establishment of cost-effective organization
to operate the projects. The selection of like-minded companies as partners will be
necessary in the effort – particularly if operatorship is transferred.
